Henry Asante Antwi is a PhD Student with The PATIENTS Program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy (UMSOP).
About Henry:
Henry Asante Antwi joined the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research and PATIENTS Program from Jiangsu University in China. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Ghana Business School and a Master of Business Administration in health and public management from China’s Jiangsu University School of Management. After his MBA program, Henry worked as a research associate with the Center for Health and Public Policy Research at Jiangsu University during which he led the maternity insurance fund replenishment project as a principal investigator. He also taught at the undergraduate level and supervised students’ research projects at the Shanghai Normal University.
While in China, Henry also worked as a patient’s experience and insight researcher on family doctor contract services in Shanghai and as a co-investigator in health care stock market behaviors. As a PHSR PhD student, Henry also works as an assistant researcher with an interest in comparative effectiveness research and patient-centered outcomes research at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Since joining the PHSR program, he has been working with Prof. C. Daniel Mullins on a community oncology project to identify the social determinants of health with the greatest potential to advance patient care equity and improve health outcomes in community oncology. This project is sponsored by Ontada, a subsidiary of McKesson Corporation dedicated to oncology care and insights business to transforming the fight against cancer.
