Patient-Driven Value Element Development | PAVE's mission is to engage patient communities from a diverse network of partners in order to promote value-based decision-making that is driven by patient values in health care. As our first step, we are engaging individuals across patient communities to provide an expert opinion on the elements of value on which PAVE should focus. We worked closely with three patient stakeholder members on our advisory board to develop a list of "value elements." | We seek feedback from individuals across diverse patient communities to help shape the direction of the program's work. If you would be willing to provide your input, please contact Susan dosReis, PhD, professor and director of PAVE, at sdosreis@rx.umaryland.edu. Your contribution will help shape the direction of PAVE's future education, research, and dissemination. |
Patient-Driven Partnerships in the Hispanic Community | An important focus of PAVE's work is engaging patient communities that are under-represented in health care evaluation and decision-making. Our team has partnered with several community groups that serve the needs of the Hispanic and Latino community. Through these partnerships, we are working to develop elements of value that are important in health care decision-making within these communities. This work will engage multiple stakeholders locally, and eventually, across the country. | To learn more about our research in the Hispanic and Latino community, please contact Wendy Camelo Castillo, MD, MSc, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research, at wcastillo@rx.umaryland.edu. |
