The second Mid-Atlantic Frontiers in Metals and Medicine Symposium will be held on Thursday and Friday, October 24-25, 2024, at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

About the Event:

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy established the Metallotherapeutics Research Center in 2017. The mission of the center is to harness the in-house expertise in metal systems with the unique research capabilities and resources at the University of Maryland. The mission of the center is to improve human health and welfare by identifying new metalloprotein drug targets, developing new metal therapeutics, and improving current metal-based medications.

The goal of the center is to become a focal point for researchers with an interest in metal systems to stimulate interaction and collaboration. As such we are hosting the second Mid-Atlantic Symposium “Frontiers in Metals and Medicine” on the evening of Thursday October 24 through Friday October 25, 2024.

Registration is free and we encourage participation from faculty, staff and trainees. Poster presenters will be selected from the submitted abstracts for short oral presentations.
