The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education offers a wide range of services related to the delivery of continuing education activities for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across the state of Maryland and beyond.
CPE Provider Services
The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education offers objective review of educational content and learning methodologies to ensure objectivity and adherence to principles of adult learning. Included within the provider services is the development of online activity evaluations and processing of continuing education credit to the CPE Monitor. The office also works with sponsoring organizations to ensure adherence to the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education’s (ACPE) standards, from conducting learner needs assessments to delivering educational content and assessing learner and programmatic outcomes.
Customized Training Programs
Organizations are encouraged to contact the Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education to explore continuing education opportunities for their pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The Office will connect the organization with faculty experts from the School of Pharmacy as well as the capabilities of the School’s CIPS Knowledge Enterprise to develop enduring programming.
Programmatic and Financial Intermediary for Commercial Interests
The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education offers fee-based services for industry-supported programming. Customized services include preparation of grant applications, development of commercial support agreements, and disbursement of grant funds in accordance to ACPE’s Standards for Commercial Support.
Hosting Licensed Programs
The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education is a licensed provider of the American Pharmacists Association’s (APhA) certificate programs in Immunization Delivery, Medication Therapy Management, and Diabetes Care. The office can arrange for on-site delivery of these activities upon request.
Event Planning for Live Activities
The School of Pharmacy’s state-of-the-art educational facilities at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, Md., are available to host live continuing education activities on a fee-for-service basis. The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education can help coordinate the on-site logistics, including audio/visual equipment, catering, and room reservations, required to host a continuing education activity.
The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education reviews all official promotional materials used to market all continuing education programming. The office can also assist with marketing and disseminating marketing materials through its network, which includes thousands of pharmacy practitioners.
